Class Sizes and Fees

Standard course fee:

10 weeks: 1.5 hours per week.
$359.00 (online classes
$390.00 (in house classes)
$375.00 (mixed classes) (alternating in house and online, details to be discussed in class)

Small course 4 or 3 students:

$359.00 (online classes)/$390 (in house classes) 9 weeks: 1.5 hours per week for 4 students, 1.25 hours per week for 3 students

Intensive course fee:​

$650.00 10 weeks: 3 hours per week. 10 weeks for a class of 5 or more students, 9 weeks for a class of 4 students, 7 weeks for a class of 3 students.

Single classes:

If you don’t want to enrol for the whole term you can book single classes at $50 per night in regular classes (if there are spots available) or $55 in small classes (if there are spots available). Please check availability with the office.

Catch Up Classes and Online Classes

What happens, if you had to miss one class?

We use Trello, an online project management tool for your class. Here you can find your homework and all handouts from the classes from each week. If you have to miss a lesson, you are able to log in from your computer or phone (Trello has a great app) and catch up on the lesson from home. You are also able to share links, ideas and questions.

What happens, if you had to miss one or more classes and you need help with catching up?

If you think that catching up on what you have missed on your own is not enough, we can organise a teacher for you to do a make up session. The fee for 1 hour catch up class is $70.00 (regular private tuition is $95.00/h).

Payment Options

There are many payment options. Fees are payable at the time of enrolment by credit card on the website, by PayPal or via direct bank transfer.

Refund for a Group Course

Fees are refundable until one week prior to the commencement of the class. After this point, fees are non-refundable.

Textbooks cannot be refunded after they have been collected.

Students are entitled to a full refund if the EMLC had to cancel the class that they have enrolled in.

Refund for Private Tuition and Gift Vouchers

We offer a 10% discount if students pay for 10 hours in advance.

You will be expected to take your 10 hours on a regular basis within 6 months from the date you paid. Fees are non-refundable after this point.

Classes which have been cancelled less than 24 in advance will be charged.

Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of the payment and are non-refundable after this point.

The East Melbourne Language Centre reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to terminate the provision of its services in the event that it determines that it is appropriate to do so.
